Graham started playing at the club in 1969 and was a first-team cricketer at the age of just 15. Charlotte has played a key role in growing the number of girls from six to more than 60 in just two years and helps to run the girls’ U11 side.Īnother award went to a Farncombe Cricketer, as Graham Elkins was acknowledged with the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award. They have also built strong relationships with local schools, which has helped the Club to build their girls’ section.ġ5-year-old Charlotte Martin received the ‘Rising Star’ award Charlotte plays her cricket at Farncombe CC and as well as being a talented cricketer herself, she has dedicated herself to supporting young girls to get into the game too.
Winners included Hampton Wick Royal CC, who picked up the ‘Connecting Communities’ award that recognised their hard work and commitment to making cricket an inclusive and welcoming sport and breaking down barriers for those who may find it difficult to access the game. The event saw over 200 people, who are the beating heart of the grassroots of the sport, attend the ground and 11 awards handed out to those who have the biggest impact.
